Outlook 2000 E-mail Setup Instructions
Step 1 - Open Outlook 2000 and go to the Tools menu.
Step 2 - Choose Services or Accounts (either one could be there
depending on your setup). Double click on the default e-mail account or
the "Internet E-mail" account. Make sure the "General"
tab is selected. Type in your information like below. Make sure to
change "yourdomain.com" to your actual domain.
Step 3 - Click on the "Servers" tab.
Server Information: For the "Incoming mail (POP3)" enter
mail.yourdomain.com. Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain
name. i.e. Our server would be mail.sitecon.com. Enter the
exact same thing for your "Outgoing mail (SMTP)".
Incoming Mail Server: Account name: enter your full e-mail address. i.e.
joe@yourdomain.com. Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name. i.e..
Our e-mail address would be sales@sitecon.com. Password: Enter the password we
supplied you. Passwords are case sensitive. Make sure "Remember
Password" is checked.
Outgoing Mail Server: Make sure "My server requires
authentication" is checked.
Step 4: Close Outlook then re-open outlook. Compose an e-mail to the account you
just setup. Click send and receive once to send it, wait a minute or so
then click send and receive again. You should receive the e-mail you just
sent. That's it, you're done!
